Four young people in hospital after Surrey crash

Three people are in serious condition, while one person has non life-threatening injuries.

Four young people were taken to hospital early Saturday in Surrey after a Jeep crashed into a lamp post.

Surrey RCMP say shortly after midnight, officers responded to a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 78 Avenue at 122 Street, where a black Jeep had sustained heavy damage.

Two men and one woman were transported to hospital in serious condition. A fourth person, a man, was transported to hospital in non-serious condition.

Investigators say all those taken to hospital were in their late teens or early 20s.

Police say two people initially fled the scene on foot and have since been identified.

No arrests have been made at this time. Investigators don’t know why the Jeep crashed and say nothing has been ruled out at this time.

No road closures remain in effect.
